Web apps and front ends for Google Sheets

Sometimes the sheet is the right place for the data but the wrong thing to hand people. Apps Script can serve real web pages that read and write your sheet, so a customer checks their order status, a technician logs a job from their phone or a parent picks a time slot, and none of them ever open the spreadsheet.

What I build

Each project is scoped to your sheet. These are the pieces I build most often.

Staff entry apps

A phone-friendly page for logging jobs, hours, inspections or sales, with dropdowns and checks so every row comes in clean.

Customer lookup pages

Enter an order number or email and see status, balance or schedule, showing only that customer's rows.

Booking and availability

Live open slots read from the sheet, with a booking that claims the slot so two people can't take it.

Approval flows

A manager gets a link, sees the request and taps Approve or Deny, and the sheet and the requester both update.

Embedded on your website

The app can live on its own Google link or sit inside a page on your existing site.

Sign-in when it matters

Access limited to your Google Workspace domain or to a list of approved accounts for staff tools.

A sheet that became an app

A small contractor tracks jobs in a sheet. Crews now open a link on their phone, pick today's job from a list, add notes and photos and mark it done. The office sees it in the sheet seconds later, and the photos are filed in that job's Drive folder.

Questions about web apps and front ends

Is a Google Sheet a real database?

For hundreds or a few thousand records with modest traffic, it works well and costs nothing extra. If you expect heavy traffic or very large data, I'll recommend a proper database and tell you why.

Can it match my website's look?

Yes. The pages are plain HTML and CSS, so they can use your colors, fonts and logo.

How fast is it?

A typical page loads in one to three seconds and saves in about a second. That's fine for forms and portals. For a public page with heavy traffic, a different setup is better.

Can customers see each other's data?

No. The app only returns the rows that match the person asking, and the sheet itself stays private.
