Google Sheets automation
Most small businesses have one person who spends hours a week moving data between tabs, emailing people from a list and chasing the same follow-ups. Nearly all of it can run on its own. I build the automation inside the sheet you already use, so nobody has to learn new software.
Get a fixed quoteWhat I build
Each project is scoped to your sheet. These are the pieces I build most often.
Form to sheet to inbox
A Google Form response lands, gets cleaned up, sorted to the right tab and triggers the right email to the right person.
Scheduled reports
A summary of yesterday's sales, this week's jobs or this month's balances, emailed as a PDF or a link at the time you choose.
Reminders and follow-ups
Due dates in a column become emails or text messages at 7 days, 2 days and the day of, and stop once the row is marked done.
Imports that refresh themselves
Data pulled on a schedule from another system's API, an emailed CSV attachment or a shared Drive folder.
Status-driven actions
Change a dropdown to "Approved" and the script creates the document, notifies the client and moves the row.
Archiving and cleanup
Old rows moved to an archive file so the working sheet stays fast, with a log of what moved and when.
A typical first automation
An office manager downloads the week's invoices from the accounting system, pastes them into a sheet, highlights the overdue ones and emails each customer. The automated version pulls the invoices on Monday at 6am, flags anything 30 days late and sends each reminder from her Gmail with the invoice attached. Her part is reading the summary.
Questions about google sheets automation
Is this the same as Zapier?
It does a lot of the same jobs, but it runs inside your Google account, so there's no per-task fee and no outside service holding your data. For something that has to talk to many apps with no API access, Zapier can still make sense, and I'll say so.
What happens if an automation fails?
I build in error emails. If a run fails, you get a message saying what failed and on which row, and the next run picks up where it left off.
Can it send from our own email address?
Yes. Emails go out through the Gmail account that owns the script, so they come from you and show in your Sent folder.
Will my team need training?
Usually five minutes. The sheet looks the same; things just happen on their own. I write a one-page note on what runs when.
Tell me what your sheet needs to do
A few sentences is enough to start. I'll reply with questions, then a plan and a fixed quote.
