Google Sheets dashboards
If answering "how are we doing this month?" means scrolling three tabs and doing math in your head, you need a dashboard. I build one-screen summaries on top of your existing data, with formulas that update as rows come in and charts you can read at a glance on a laptop or a phone.
Get a fixed quoteWhat I build
Each project is scoped to your sheet. These are the pieces I build most often.
KPI summary
Revenue, open jobs, enrollment, average ticket, or whatever you track, at the top of one tab with this month against last month.
Filters that don't break
Dropdowns for date range, location or category that drive QUERY and FILTER formulas, so the whole dashboard answers one question at a time.
Charts sized for reading
A few clear charts, not twelve. Trends over time, top ten lists and progress toward a target.
Clean data underneath
Raw data stays on its own tabs. The dashboard reads from it, so adding rows never breaks the layout.
Scheduled snapshots
The dashboard emailed as a PDF every Monday, or saved as a monthly snapshot tab so you can compare later.
Looker Studio when it fits
If you need sharing with lots of people or very large data, I'll connect the sheet to Looker Studio instead and tell you why.
A dashboard built from a messy sheet
A program director has a registration sheet with 2,000 rows across four seasons. The dashboard shows enrollment by program and season, revenue collected against revenue owed, which sessions have open spots and a list of families with an unpaid balance, each name linking to its row.
Questions about dashboards and reporting
Can I see the dashboard on my phone?
Yes, in the Google Sheets app. I lay it out so the key numbers sit in the top-left, where the phone shows them first.
How big can the data get before it slows down?
A Google Sheet holds up to 10 million cells, but heavy formulas slow down well before that. I design for your real volume, and if you'll outgrow Sheets, I'll say so before building.
Can different people see different numbers?
Inside one sheet, anyone with access can see every tab. For per-person views, I build separate shared files or a small web app that only shows each person their part.
Do you use Looker Studio?
When it's the better tool. For most small businesses, a well-built Sheets dashboard is faster to use and easier to change.
Tell me what your sheet needs to do
A few sentences is enough to start. I'll reply with questions, then a plan and a fixed quote.
